Navigating Sonic Passages: Between Relational Practices and Techno-Ecologies
As part of the inter-university research project Laboratorio Laguna, August 2023 – September 2025
The art-driven research project delves into the lagoon of Venice asking for technologies for interacting with the environment. The lagoon of Venice, composed of landfill islands (Saccas), marshlands (Barene), and a mix of ecclesiastical, industrial, and military ruins, forms a fragile ecosystem in constant flux, shaped by both, human and non-human forces. In tune with the diurnal rhythms of the lagoon, I crafted a number of ephemeral sound installations from found materials and DIY electronics to be played by natural forces such as wind and water. Tying in my artistic practice with eco-philosophical thought, I will discuss my sounding and listening approaches as a method of space-sensing and place-making and a mode of becoming-environmental.

Sonic Topologies – Diffracting Material and Epistemic Dimensions of Immersive Sound Technologies
PhD Project at the Tangible Music Lab, University of Art and Design Linz
Multi-channel spatial sound has become increasingly important in experimental music and sound art in recent decades. However, in most cases, interaction with immersive sound in real-time is typically accomplished using mixing consoles and other traditional controls like touchpads or joysticks. The project aims to develop a set of tangible instruments for real-time spatial sound diffusion. To this end, the interplay of material affordances, sensor technologies, sound processing software, and the question of agency will be explored experimentally. Furthermore, the project challenges common notions of machine interaction and human domination over the environment, speculatively asking what other technologies are conceivable that prioritize relationships over central control.

Fabulation For Future
Artistic Research in Film and Philosophy 2021 – 2025
The collective artistic research project Fabulation for Future reflects on the change of perspectives and new ways of perceiving a world shaken by multiple crises in the context of the Anthropocene. Considering this background, the project’s artistic research process designs a collective, critical rethinking of the human condition with the goal of finding artistic ways to create post-anthropocentric worldviews for a sustainable future in which human and non-human species can coexist.
